Patrick Rakovsky was born on June 2, 1993 in Olpe.
In the very childhood Patrick attended several youth academies: SC Bleche-Germinghausen, and FC Schreibershof. His family moved to Czech Republic and he joined the Dukla Prague club, in 2000 the scouts from AC Sparta Prague noticed him. Rakovsky joined the team and played there until 2003, when he joined SK Slavia Prague for a season. In 2004 Patrick returned to AC Sparta Prague and with the under-15 squad he won the Czhech U-15 championship.
In 2007, Rakovsky left for Gelsenkirchen and joined for FC Schalke 04 youth team and as early as in 2008 the footballer gained the major title of Westphalia youth championship. Such a performance didn’t remain unheeded by the German national team scouts and in the same year Rakovsky was capped for the German national U-15 football squad, playing in a friendly match with the team of Poland. In 2011, Patrick won the Westphalia U-19 championship with the youth squad of FC Schalke 04.
In July, the young goalkeeper was awarded his first professional contract with FC Nürnberg. On August 20, 2011 Raphael Shäfer sustained an injury and Patrick replaced him making his Bundesliga debut. Since then he appeared for the first squad only once and plays for the reserve time.
Rakovsky represented the national team at the U-15, U-16, U-17, U-18 and U-19 levels.
