Paul Connolly is a fullback, born on 29 September 1983 in Liverpool, England.
Paul’s career took off in the English side Plymouth Argyle, when he graduated to the main squad of the club in 2000. He made his début in the last game of the 2000/2001 season, but managed to clinch a regular place only by 2003. Connolly made 162 appearances and netted one goal for ‘The Pilgrims’ during eight years.
In May 2008, the back transferred to Derby County and took over the captain’s armband at the end of the 2008/2009 season. However, he failed to establish rapport with the head coach and was sent on loan to Sheffield United in 2010. Paul took part in seven games for the temporary team and returned to ‘The Rams’. The player scored one goal in 61 matches for the club during two years.
In the summer 2010, Leeds United secured the footballer’s services on a three-year deal and saw him make 58 appearances.
After short loan spells with Portsmouth and Preston North End, Connolly signed for Millwall. However, a couple of months later Connolly switched for Crawley Town. In the summer 2014 Connolly joined Luton Town.
