Përparim Hetemaj is a midfielder for Chievo. He was born on December 12, 1986 in Srbica, former Yugoslavia.
Përparim’s youth career started in 1993 after he entered HJK youth system. For eleven-year stint at Hetemaj he was one of the best players, and eventually earned for himself a place in the first team of the club in 2005.
In the summer of 2005 Hetemaj signed his first professional contract with HJK and was immediately included into the starting eleven by the head coach. During the 2005/06 season Finnish midfielder made 33 appearances and scored 1 goal. His good club performances attracted the attention of Greek AEK Athens.
In the summer of 2006 Përparim signed for Athens on a 3-year contract. During the first two seasons Përparim made periodic appearances, but it wasn’t enough to cement a regular spot in the starting lineup. In 2008 Athens decided to send Hetemaj on loan to Apollon Kalamarias, where he featured in 10 matches and netted 1 goal during the 2008/09 season.
In 2009 Përparim was purchased by Dutch Twente, where he spent an idle 2009/10 season. In 2010 Hetemaj moved to Italy, where he signed for Brescia on a long-term contract. During the 2010/11 season he became a mainstay in the team, taking part in almost all the matches of the club during the year. In the 2010/11 season the Finnish midfielder made 34 appearances and scored 2 goals. In the summer of 2011 Përparim signed for his current Italian Serie A side Chievo.
From 2005 to 2009 Hetemaj was capped 15 times and scored 2 goals for the Finland U-21. Since 2009 Përparim was called up 11 times to represent Finland national team.
