Phil Jones is a back of Manchester United. He was born 21 February 1992 in Preston, England.
His youth career began in 2002, when Phil joined the Blackburn Rovers academy. During seven years till 2009, he trained and played for the youth team.
In 2009 Phil’s youth career ended, when he was offered to join Blackburn Rovers as a regular. Phil was happy to get such opportunity and wanted to fulfill himself in professional football. In 2009 Jones signed a contract with his native club and played there till 2011, when he was bought by a more famous English side club.
In 2011 Manchester United started to experience the gaps in defense due to the injuries of mature players. That is why Sir Alex Ferguson began to actively search for an equivalent substitute. Phil Jones got on the list of candidates and after a demonstration match he was offered to transfer to the ‘Red Devils’. The price for the player was not a keystone for one of the strongest clubs in England and they were ready to pay any appropriate sum of money to buy Jones. The transfer cost £16.5 million and the contract was signed for five years. Nowadays Phil Jones is the key player of Manchester United.
From 2009 till 2010 the footballer was capped 13 times for the England national U-19 and U-21 teams. In 2011 Jones was invited to play for the senior national team and made five appearances for it.
