Philipp Wollscheid. Biography

Philipp Wollscheid is a German defender currently playing for Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga. He was born on 6 March 1989 in Wadern, Germany.

Philipp began his senior career with RW Hasborn-Dautweiler who then competed in the fifth tier of the German football system. In the 2008/09 season, he moved to FC Saarbrücken amassing 30 matches for the club throughout the season. In 2009, Wollscheid joined FC Nuremberg but lacking professional experience he played predominantly for their reserve squad during his debut season at the club. Wollscheid made his first-team debut for Nuremberg in a match against Kaiserslautern in November 2010. In 2012, he switched to Bayer 04 Leverkusen where he plays to date.
