Piet Velthuizen is a goalkeeper of Vitesse. He was born on 3 November 1986 in Nijmegen, Netherlands.
Piet’s career took off in youth team SCE, from where he moved to Quick 1888. The footballer’s steady performance attracted the attention of Vitesse scouts. Velthuizen completed a move to the youth squad of the new club and stayed there till he penned his first professional four-year contract in 2006. The keeper made 108 appearances and became the pivot of the team during his spell.
In 2010 Piet was tempted by the climate of Spain and sealed a deal with Hércules, where he featured in three games. In 2011 the footballer returned to his native Vitesse.
Velthuizen was capped for the Netherlands national team only one time. He managed to keep a clean sheet in the secure 3-0 victory over Japan.
