Luís Miguel Afonso Fernandes is a Portuguese footballer of Benfica.
He was born in 1989 in Bragança, Portugal, and started his playing in his hometown with G.D. Bragança. In 2008 he signed for S.C. Braga and soon was loaned to G.D. Ribeirão, where he made his professional appearance. Then Pizzi had a short spell in S.C. Covilhã, where he played four matches of Primera Liga.
For the 2010/11 season he moved to Paços Ferreira and made the top division debut in the in a 1-1 draw with Porto. Pizzi was a regular league player throughout that season, scoring 7 goals and missing just a few matches.
In August 2011 Pizzi moved to Spain and joined Atlético Madrid on loan. He made La Liga appearance in September substituting Radamel Falcao in a 4-0 victory over Racing de Santander. The next season he joined to Deportivo de La Coruña on loan.
In the summer 2013 Pizzi was invited to Benfica but was immediately loaned to Espanyol.
Pizzi was a part of Portugal U-19 and U-21 national squads.
