Radoslav Kováč is a Czech footballer who currently plays as a defender for Slovan Liberec in the Czech Gambrinus Liga.
He was groomed in the youth teams of such Czech clubs as Spartak Loučná nad Desnou, TJ Šumperk, Velké Losiny and Sigma Olomouc in between 1988 and 1997. In 1997, Radoslav signed his first professional contract with Sigma Olomouc where he made a total of 127 appearances during a six-year stint.since 2003 to 2005, Kováč featured in 46 matches for Sparta Prague before joining Russian top club Spartak Moscow.
After 101 appearances throughout a four-year spell at Spartak, Kováč was sent on loan to West Ham United for the rest of the 2008/09 season. Thanks to his nine terrific performances for the temporary club, West Ham management decided to sign a promising Czech player on a permanent deal. He made a total of 44 appearances as part of the first team of the famous English club.
In the summer 2011, Kováč joined the Swiss heavyweights FC Basel. He pulled off the season as the Super League champion and the Swiss Cup winner together with the club.
Since 2013 Radoslav has featured for a Czech side Slovan Liberec.
In between 1999 and 2002, Radoslav Kováč earned 15 international caps for the Czech Republic U-21 team. Since 2004 to 2009, he was a regular international for the Czech Republic senior squad amassing 30 appearances and 2 goals.
