Rafa Albuquerque

A Portuguese goalkeeper Rafael de Sousa Albuquerque was born on 1 March 1992 in Maria.

His youth career started at Porto. In 2001, after passing all the preliminary tests successfully, Rafael was drafted into the club’s academy. He spent two years playing for the youth team at U-11 level, before he got promotion to the U-13 squad. He finished his junior career playing for the U-19 team of Rio Ave. In the summer 2010, Albuquerque joined that northern club and his last years as a junior passed there. In November 2011, Albuquerque debuted in a home fixture with Nacional and his team won by 2 to one. In the summer 2013 Rafa moved to Chaves but was soon loaned to Juventude de Pedras Salgadas.
