Rafael Coelho is a Brazilian forward, born on 20 May 1988 in Florianópolis, Brazil.
Rafael began his football grooming in the youth system of his hometown club Figueirense before joining their first team in 2007. He got off to a fine start of his career scoring 22 goals in 48 matches for the club during a three-year stint. In 2010, Coelho moved to Desportivo Brasil but was never to play a single match for the team being sent on loan at first to Vasco da Gama and then to Avaí.
In 2012, Rafael Coelho signed a contract with the Chinese side Guangzhou R&F. He scored 14 goals in 30 matches in the 2012 league season helping his club to finish seventh in the tournament. He graced his team scoring a superb hat-trick in a 5-1 win over giants Changchun Yatai on 27 May 2012. With 14 goals, Rafael Coelho was praised as the best Guangzhou R&F scorer of the season and was ranked the third top scorer after Cristian Dănălache (23 goals) and Peter Utaka (20 goals) in the 2012 Chinese Super League.
In February 2014 Coelho switched for Changchun Yatai.
