A Brazilian footballer Rafael Galhardo acts as a defender for Santos FC. Rafael was born on 30 October 1991 in Nova Fiburgo.
The defender’s junior career started at Flamengo. He entered the youth department in 2008. In 2009, Galhardo started making occasional appearances for the senior squad still being a member of the youth one. His first performance at the professional level happened in August 2009 in a match with Cruzeiro. The same year Flamengo was crowned the champion of the Brazilian Série A. In 2010, Rafael clinched into the starting team. The further honors followed with the club becoming the holder of the 2011 Taça Guanabara and the 2011 Taça Rio. Rafael won the 2011 Rio de Janeiro State League under the club’s flag. Altogether the defender made 14 appearances for the main squad.
In 2012, Galhardo was hired by another Brazilian Série A club Santos.
In 2011, the defender was called up nine times for the Brazil U-20 team. Together with the youth squad he became the winner of the South American Youth Championship and the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
