A Brazilian footballer Rafael Marques Pinto plays as a defender for Atlético Mineiro. Marques was born on 21 September 1983 in Rio de Janeiro.
Rafael’s junior career passed at the youth department of Botafogo. Nevertheless, his first pro contract was penned in 2003 with the other club – Brasiliense. The defender’s debut year was very fortunate. He established himself in the starting team appearing 31 times and scoring 9 goals. After such a promising start in his career, Marques got the proposal from the former side Botafogo. He signed the contract in 2004. In 2007, Rafael together with the squad attained a victory in the Rio Cup. Altogether he appeared in 78 matches scoring 7 goals.
In 2008, the defender had a brief spell at Goiás making 27 appearances and netting 4 times. In 2009, Rafael was hired by Grêmio. Whilst playing for the club, he won the 2010 Campeonato Gaúcho. The total number of appearances made for the squad was 39. In 2012, the footballer opted to join Atlético Mineiro. When he joined the team, further honors followed with the club winning the 2012 Campeonato Mineiro.
