Rafael Miranda was born on 11 August 1984 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
Miranda started his youth career the academy of his hometown club Atlético Mineiro where he was trained from 2003 to 2004. In 2005, at the age of 21, Rafael Miranda signed his first contract with Atlético Mineiro for a five-year term. The player continued to train hard and improve his skills. During the first season Miranda made rare starts for his new team. For the rest of the seasons he also appeared on a football field from time to time. For five years Miranda took part in 56 games for Atlético Mineiro.
In 2010 Rafael Miranda moved to Portugal where he sealed a deal with Marítimo. The footballer got a chance to unlock his sporting potential to a full extent.
After three years with the side Miranda returned to Brazil and joined Bahia.
