A Brazilian footballer Rafael Alcântara do Nascimento, also known as Rafinha, is a player of Barcelona. Rafinha was born on 12 February 1993 in São Paulo.
Rafael’s father is the former footballer. That was he who influenced the boy’s choice to become a professional player. In 2006, Rafinha joined the youth department of Barcelona, where he was groomed during five years. During that period of time, the young midfielder emerged through the club’s junior ranks, opting to perform for its main squad. In 2011, Rafinha was promoted to the senior team; he was selected for Barcelona’s reserve team. He debuted for the squad in January 2011 in a match with Girona FC. He came on field in the 55th minute of the game, as a sub for Jonathan dos Santos. The midfielder has already featured in more than 80 matches for the reserves.
In 2013 he was loaned to Celta Vigo.
On international level, Rafinha made 14 appearances for the Spain national youth squad at U-16, U-17 and U-19 level. In 2012, he made up his mind to change for Brazil. The midfielder was selected to play for the U-20 team at the 2013 South American Youth Championship.
