Ramon Leeuwin is a midfielder of Cambuur. He was born on 1 September 1987 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Ramon began to play football in the youth team of SV Almere when a child. The coach of the squad noticed that the young player possessed all necessary skills to play at the position of a right midfielder.
Later Leeuwin moved to the academy of Omniworld, which was considered to be stronger than his previous club. However, his senior career took off in Utrecht, when the scouts of the club won Ramon over to their youth system. In 2006 the player penned a professional two-year contract, but managed to make only three appearances during his spell.
Leeuwin’s transfer to AGOVV Apeldoorn in 2008 was more fruitful for him, as he finally got playing practice. Ramon became the pivot of the club and found the net three times in 68 matches during two years.
In the summer 2010, the player’s career went forward at a steady gait as he sealed a deal with ADO Den Haag, where he took part in 45 games until 2013. Then he joined newly promoted Cambuur.
Due to his height, Ramon is great in the air and always tries to use every corner or free kick in order to go on to net.
