Ramón Fernando Núñez Reyes is a forward of FC Dallas. He was born on 14 November 1985 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The footballer’s career took off in the USA, after he and his family moved there in early 1990s’.
Ramón penned his first professional contract with FC Dallas in 2004 and amassed 14 goals in 67 matches for the club during three years.
In 2007, the forward transferred to Chivas USA, where he made eight appearances during one season. In 2008, Núñez returned to Honduras and sealed a deal with Olimpia, which saw him score three goals in 34 fixtures during one year.
In 2009, the footballer performed for Mexican side Puebla and Cruz Azul. In 2010, Ramón returned to Olimpia and netted five goals in 11 games for the team before completing a move to English side Leeds United, where he featured in 18 matches and fired one goal before being sent on loan to Scunthorpe United in March 2011. After his temporary contract expired, Núñez extended his deal with ‘The Peacocks’ till 2015. However, in 2013 Núñez switched to an MLS club FC Dallas.
The forward became renowned for his wonderful game vision, passing accuracy and incredible pace, which bound him with ‘The Little Prince’ nickname.
From 2005 till 2008, Ramón took part in 22 games and contributed four goals for the Honduras national U-20 and U-23 squads. From 2006, the player has been capped 44 times and found the net five times for the full national team. He also took part in the 2010 World Cup and chipped in three goals in 14 matches for the squad during the tournament.
