Rasmus Elm is a midfielder who defends the colours of CSKA Moscow. He was born on 17 March 1988 in Kalmar, Sweden.
In his teenage years Elm played for Johansfors IF and Emmaboda IS before signing for Kalmar FF in 2005. During his 2005-2009 spell at Kalmar he featured 96 appearances and netted 17 goals. In 2008 Rasmus helped his club to win Allsvenskan in 2008 and finish second in the Svenska Cupen 2008.
On 27 August 2009 Rasmus penned a four-year deal with Eredivisie club AZ Alkmaar. On 12 September 2009 he debuted in the match against ADO Den Haag. During his 2009-2012 stay at AZ Elm featured in 83 matches and notched 18, subsequently moving to CSKA.
On July 30, 2012 Rasmus Elm sealed a 3-year deal with CSKA. On 21 October 2012 Elm clinched his debut goal for the Russian club in the match against Rubin Kazan.
Elm captained the Swedish U19 team until 2007, when he debuted for the U21 squad. On 11 February 2009 Elm blasted his debut goal for the national team in the friendly between Sweden and Austria. On 16 October 2012 Elm clinched the equalizer in the Sweden’s paramount four all draw against Germany in the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
