A French footballer Renaud Cohade plays at the position of midfielder for AS Saint-Étienne.
On 9 April 2002 he made his professional debut as a Nîmes Olympique player even though at that time he studied at Lyon academy. It was a match against RC Strasbourg. His performance attracted attention of Bordeaux management and during the pre-season in 2004 he joined that club.
Throughout his first season at the new club Renaud performed at the highest level. In 10 out of 23 matches he appeared as a starter. At the beginning of the 2005/06 season several changes at the club’s coach staff occurred. As a result of these changes Cohade was given out on loan to FC Sète which was playing in Ligue 2. Having made 13 total appearances for that club the player did not help the team stay afloat.
In the summer of 2006 Renaud was looking for another club. Finally, on 8 August 2006 he signed a contract with RC Strasbourg. From the very start he established himself as a key player having scored 8 goals. He kept on playing for the same club in the 2007/08 season. However, in February 2008 he sustained an inguinal injury. In his absence the team was defeated 11 times. Consequently, it was relegated to Ligue 2.
On 18 June 2009 Cohade agreed to a contract with Valenciennes FC. He made his club debut in the match against Lyon. At the end of the 2011/12 season the midfielder joined AS Saint-Étienne on a 3-year deal.
