Rhys Williams is a midfielder of Middlesbrough. He was born on 14 July 1988 in Perth, Australia.
Rhys passed all necessary tests and impressed the coaching staff at the academy of ECU Joondalup, which helped him to clinch a place in the junior squad of the club. In 2005, the footballer got an opportunity to join the youth system of English side Middlesbrough and took his skills to the professional level with the new team by 2008.
In the summer 2008, Williams penned his first senior contract and managed to adapt to the first squad really soon, which helped him to take part in a number of fixtures. However, in 2009, the midfielder went on loan to Burnley, where he made 17 appearances during his spell.
After returning to his parent Middlesbrough, Rhys continued his performance and took his tally to five goals in 83 games as of January 2013.
From 2007 till 2009, the footballer featured in ten matches and contributed one goal for the Wales national U-21 squad. From 2009, Williams has been capped ten times for the Australia national team.
