Ricardo Vaz Tê is a striker of West Ham United. He was born on 1 October 1986 in Lisbon, Portugal.
In 2003 Ricardo graduated from the academy of Portuguese side Farense. English side Bolton secured the services of the young talent and penned a long-term contract with him. During first four seasons, Vaz Tê stayed with the new club, but his appearances were rather occasional. The footballer was used mainly as a sub before 2007, when the striker went on loan to Hull City. Ricardo took part in six games for the temporary team and returned to his parent club, where he spent another two years and a half.
In 2010 Vaz Tê moved to Greek side Panionios, where he featured in eight matches and fired one goal during six months. In January 2011, the footballer returned to Great Britain after sealing a deal with Scottish side Hibernian. Ricardo spent another half a year with the new club and kicked one goal in ten games before leaving for Barnsley in the summer 2011. Vaz Tê’s spell with ‘The Tykes’ was the same as in his two previous squads, and the striker amassed ten goals in 22 games during that time.
In January 2012, Ricardo completed a move to West Ham United and showed stellar performance in the second half of the 2011/2012 season, helping his new club to gain the promotion to the Premier League for the 2012/2013 season by chipping in 12 goals in 18 matches.
From 2003 till 2008, Vaz Tê was capped 38 times and contributed 16 goals for the Portugal national U-17, U-19, U-20, U-21 and U-23 squads.
