Rickie Lambert is a striker, born on 16 February 1982 in Litherland, England.
In 1998 Rickie joined the main team of Blackpool, where his professional career took off. During first two and a half seasons, Lambert was on the list of the club’s strikers, but his appearances on the pitch were not planned by the head coach, because the footballer managed to take part only in one nominal game during all that time.
In January 2001, Rickie moved to Macclesfield Town, where he was given an opportunity to perform as a regular. Lambert featured in 44 games and netted eight goals for the new club during one year and a half.
The footballer’s career continued in Stockport County, which signed the striker in 2002. Rickie clinched a place in the starting line-up and retained it for three years. The player made 98 appearances and found the net 18 times during his spell with the club. In 2005 Rochdale wished to secure the footballer’s services and offered him a tempting contract, which suited Lambert perfectly. The striker frustrated the goalkeepers of rival clubs 28 times in 64 games during one and a half season.
In 2006 Rickie transferred to Bristol Rovers. The player was given an opportunity to come on the pitch in the starting XI and he used that opportunity one hundred percent. Lambert amassed 59 goals in 155 fixtures of the club before continuing his high-level performance in Southampton in 2009. During a five-year spell, Rickie was the pivot of the attack and fired 117 goals in 235 matches for ‘The Saints’.
In the summer 2014 the 32-year old forward signed for his youth club Liverpool.
At the age of 31 Lambert received his first call-up to the national team and scored on his debut.
