Rinat Dasayev is a retired football player. He was born in 1957 in Astrakhan. At the age of 9 he joined the youth team of Volgar Astrakhan and having graduated he made his debut for the first team on 5 August 1975 in the match against Terek. In 1976 he proved himself a promising player and in 1977 Dasayev left for Spartak Moscow. Between 1979 and 1988 he was the first choice keeper at Spartak Moscow and throughout that period the team won Soviet Top League in 1979 and 1987, five seasons they were runners-up and in 1981 Spartak was Soviet Cup runner-up.
In 1988 he left for Spain and joined Sevilla, but there his spell wasn’t a success, he began to work as a coach at Sevilla B team and then began to coach goalkeepers in the first team. Dasayev left the team and stayed for some time in Spain, worked with lower division and youth teams before he finally left for Russia. There he became the coach at Spartak Moscow, then left his position. In 2003 he began to coach keepers of the national team but gave it up in 2005. In 2007/08 he was the coach at Torpedo Moscow,
Between 1979 and 1990 Rinat Dasayev was the USSR national team first choice and throughout his playing career he earned 91 caps.
