Rob Edwards is a Welsh back. He was born on 25 December 1982 in Madeley, England.
Rob spent last three years of his youth career in the academy of Aston Villa, where he gave the final touch to all preparations for a professional start. In 2002, the footballer penned his first senior contract with the club, but made only eight appearances for ‘The Villans’ before being sent on loan to Crystal Palace in 2003. Edwards took part in seven fixtures and netted one goal for the team during his spell and sealed a temporary deal with Derby County, where he fired one goal in 11 games during six months.
In the summer 2004, the back put pen to paper of a permanent contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers and became the pivot, who found the net one time in 111 matches for ‘The Wolves’ during four seasons.
In the summer 2008, Blackpool secured Rob’s services and saw him score two goals in 67 fixtures during three seasons. However, the manager was not satisfied with the performance of the footballer and decided to loan him out to Norwich City, where Edwards featured in two games during the second half of the 2010/2011 season.
In the summer 2011, the back transferred to Barnsley and made 17 appearances for ‘The Tykes’ before being sent on loan to Fleetwood Town and Shrewsbury Town.
In 2013 Edwards was released from the club.
From 2003 till 2006, Rob was capped 15 times for the Wales national squad.
