Robbert Schilder is a midfielder of Twente. He was born on 18 April 1986 in Amstelveen, Netherlands.
Robbert got interested in football in his native town and played for local NFC / Brommer Amstelveen and VV Amstelveen Heemraad.
When Schilder turned 13, he moved to the academy of Ajax and performed for various youth team of the club till he was asked to pen his first professional contract in 2005.
The midfielder’s début for the team came in the 2005/2006 season in the 1-0 victory over Willem II. He featured only in four games during his first year.
In August 2006, Schilder completed a move to Heracles on a loan deal. His first appearance for the temporary squad came in August 2006 against Feyenoord. Robbert soon accustomed to the rhyme of the new club and became the pivot of Heracles. The footballer made 31 appearances and found the net one time during his spell.
Schilder’s stellar performance earned him an invitation back to his parent Ajax, where he featured only in eight games and went back to Heracles on loan. The midfielder did not manage to regain his regular place in the 2007/2008 season and fired two goals in 11 matches for the temporary team.
Robbert took part in 12 games for Ajax during the 2008/2009 season and finalized a move to NAC on a four-year deal. Schilder made his début for the new club in the 1-2 victory over ADO Den Haag.
In 2012 the footballer put pen to paper of a contract with Twente.
Robbert got into a roster for the 2007 European U-21 Championship, but did not manage to come on the field and stayed at the substitutes’ bench throughout the tournament.
