Robbin Ruiter is a goalkeeper of Utrecht. He was born on 25 March 1987 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Robbin went in for football at the age of five, when he joined amateur RKAV Volendam. The keeper’s impressive performance earned him an invitation to FC Volendam, where Ruiter performed for the youth team till the 2008/2009 season, when he was offered to join the main team of the club and become a third-choice goalkeeper.
Robbin made his professional début on 20 November 2011 in the home 1-2 loss to Helmond Sport. The footballer made encouraging display in 70 games during three seasons, which drew the attention of top-flight clubs like Dutch side Feyenoord and Groningen and English side Newcastle United and Southampton, but the keeper rejected all offers.
In April 2012, Ruiter sealed a four-year deal with Utrecht.
