Robert Earnshaw is a Welsh forward, born on 6 April 1981 in Mufulira, Zambia.
Robert started out his career with Cardiff City FC in 1998. The team then competed in the fourth tier of the English football system. Earnshaw became a revelation for the club as his outstanding performances helped Cardiff City to promote to the Football League First Division after successful 2002/03 campaign. He then scored 31 league goals for the team establishing himself as the Cardiff City Player of the Year. Earnshaw got a legendary status at Cardiff City. Overall, he scored 105 goals in 205 appearances in all competitions for the club since 1998 till 2005.
Amidst the 2004/05 season, the Welsh striker transferred to the Premier League side West Bromwich Albion. After that he produced scintillating displays at Norwich City, Derby County and Nottingham Forest. Earnshaw also has an Israeli Premier League experience as he spent the 2012/13 season on loan at Maccabi Tel Aviv. In February 2013, the forward signed a contract with MLS side Toronto FC. One year later he returned to England, joining Blackpool. In the summer 2014 he was released from the club.
It’s a tidbit that Robert Earnshaw holds a world record as the only player who has scored a hat-trick in three divisions of the English Football League, the English Premier League and for the Wales national team.
Robert Earnshaw made his international debut for Wales in a match against Germany and impressed scoring a winning goal then. His hat-trick for the country came in February 2004 as he scored in a 4-0 friendly win over Scotland.
