Robert Olejnik is a goalkeeper of Peterborough United. He was born on 26 November 1986 in Vienna, Austria.
Robert spent several years in the academy of Austria Wien before being scouted by English side Aston Villa. In 2003, the footballer joined the youth system of the club and developed his best qualities performing for the junior squad during four years.
In 2007, Olejnik put pen to paper of a senior contract with ‘The Villans’, but went on loan to Lincoln City at once. However, the goalie failed to make any appearances for the temporary team and sealed a permanent deal with Scottish side Falkirk, where he quickly gained the manager’s confidence and became the pivot. Robert took part in 102 fixtures for ‘The Bairns’ during three seasons and drew the attention of various English clubs.
In the summer 2011, the footballer transferred to Torquay United and featured in 46 matches for the team during one year. In the summer 2012, Peterborough United was looking for a good keeper and took an interest in Olejnik, who sealed a deal with ‘The Posh’ in June the same year. Robert made 22 appearances for the team as of February 2013.
From 2008 till 2009, the keeper was capped 13 times for the Austria national U-21 squad.
