Robert Snodgrass is a midfielder, born on 7 September 1987 in Glasgow, Scotland. Robert began to play football in the youth system of Scottish side Livingston.
In 2004 the footballer penned a professional contract with the club and started to perform for the main team at once. First two seasons were very successful for Snodgrass, as he gleaned experience and perfected his skills. Soon Robert drew the attention of famous European clubs like Spanish side Barcelona and English side Blackburn Rovers, but he decided to stay in his native Livingston. In 2006 the footballer was injured and kept out of action for some time. After the player recovered, the management decided to send him on loan to Stirling Albion for a couple of months and he netted five goals in 12 matches for the temporary team. Snodgrass spent the 2007/2008 season in Livingston and made stellar performance by firing ten goals, which showed he had completely recuperated. Robert made 79 appearances and amassed 15 goals for the club.
After his contract expired at the end of the season, the footballer refused to extend it and continued his career in English side Leeds United in 2008.
He kicked 11 goals and made 19 assists during his first season in the new club. The following season (2009/2010) was successful as well, because Snodgrass was included in League One Team of the Year after that. In July 2010, Robert got a knee trauma, which sentenced him to several months without football. However, he managed to make a full recovery by the end of autumn and regained his imperious form, clinching back his place of a regular. The footballer also managed to become the Championship Player of the Month in January and the Leeds United Player of the Year in March. The workmanlike midfielder attracted the attention of Newcastle United, Manchester City and Norwich City, but his club was going to pen a long-term deal with its best player.
Robert refused to give any commentaries concerning his transfer and expressed his wish to decide on his future himself after the end of his spell in the club. In February 2012, Snodgrass became a captain of the team, taking the armband from Andy Lonergan.
In July 2012, the footballer ended his Leeds United spell with Norwich City move. Two years later he switched for Hull City.
Robert took part in the matches of the Scotland national U-19, U-20 and U-21 teams. From 2009 Snodgrass has been capped for the senior national squad.
