Roberto Miguel Battión was born in 1982 in Santa Fe, Argentina. The first club he played for at the very beginning of his professional playing career was Unión de Santa Fe. There Battión stayed from 2002 to 2007. In the 2002/03 season the club suffered relegation; the footballer played for the club during several more season and then left it for Argentine primera division side Argentinos Juniors, where he spent the 2007/08 season.
In 2008 Battión moved to Greece to join Aris Thessaloniki F.C. and for the 2009/10 season he was loaned to Banfield. He became one of the key players of the Argentinean team and helped the club to win Apertura in 2009. In July 2010 Roberto Battión signed contract with Independiente for a fee of $3 million and that year the team won the Copa Sudamericana.
After three years with the club Battion moved to All Boys in the summer 2013.
