Rolando Bianchi is an Italian striker who currently plays for Torino F.C. He has been given the shirt number nine by his manager.
Rolando was born on February 15, 1983 in Lovere, Italy. Regarded as a teenage prodigy, Bianchi rose to stardom as a striker in Atalanta`s youth academy. During his time with the Italian side he made 21 first-team appearances, though scoring no goals. In 2004 Bianchi sealed Cagliari loan switch, where he featured in 39 starts and blasted 4 goals. The talented striker quickly rose through the divisions, signing for Reggina in 2005. Rolando immediately broke into the starting XI and clutched the Top Scorer Award. Unfortunately the high-key striker sustained a serious injury that ruled him out for months. In 2007 Manchester City secured the capture of Rolando Bianchi. He notched 4 goals in 19 Premier League starts while playing for the Citizens. It was no surprise to see him included into the Italy U-21 team for Euro U-21 which was held in Portugal in 2006. The player registered 3 appearances and fired one goal during the tournament.
In January 2008 Lazio loaned the striker, though he failed to shine on his debut as he saw an early bath. Rolando grabbed his first goal in a narrow 1-0 win against Reggina. After his loan drew to a close, Bianchi returned to City.
On August 23, 2008 the Italian secured a move to Torino where he continued to excel. Now he is the leading scorer in the club.
