Armenian goalkeeper Roman Berezovsky was born on August 5, 1974 in Yerevan. The imposing shot stopper and the Armenia national team`s captain started his football journey in the Soviet Union championship in 1991. He then moved to Kosmos-Kirovets (1993/1994). Berezovsky enjoyed the most successful part of his prolific career in Zenit Saint Petersburg. During 5 years he took part in 126 games in which he conceded 110 goals.
Roman and his team clutched the Russian Cup and he was named the best goalkeeper of the Russian championship according to the Sport-Express newspaper. He took the third place among the best 33 players of the Russian Football Championship. The goalkeeper continued his development in Torpedo Moscow (2001-2002) and later he moved to Dynamo Moscow (2002-2005).
In 2006 Berezovsky joined Khimki and helped his new club win promotion to the Premier League. As a part of the team Roman set new records. He took the third place in rating, which includes the goalkeepers with clean sheets in the Russian Football Championships. He also headed the list of among the goalies who conceded the least number of goals. Roman became the top penalty-stopper in the Russian and Soviet football.
In April 2008 Berezovsky started captaining Khimki and soon he was offered a one-year contract extension. In February 2012 Berezovsky moved to Dynamo Moscow.
