Roman Bugayev was born on February 11, 1989 in Bratsk, the Soviet Union. He currently plays as a defender for FC Kuban Krasnodar.
Roman started out his professional career at FC Kuban Krasnodar in 2007. However, he didn’t manage to get a toehold in the first team of the club and became a part of the reserve squad which competed in the Reserve team tournament. In 2009, Bugayev had a short spell at FC Torpedo Armavir where he played 12 games. It was Torpedo where Roman made his first senior appearance and after featuring in 11 more games with the team he returned to FC Kuban.
On May 2, 2010 Bugayev made his debut for Kuban’s first squad coming on in the 44th minute of the Russian national football league match against FC Kamaz. During the first season with the first team of the club Bugayev featured in 25 matches and helped his team to promote to the top-flight Russian Premier League. On April 23, 2011 Bugayev made his debut Premier league appearance as a starter against FC Volga.
In 2011 Roman Bugayev was capped for the Russia-2 national football squad and featured in a friendly against the Belarus U-23 national team.
