Roman Eremenko is a midfielder for Rubin Kazan. He was born on 19 March, 1987 in Moscow. He now holds Finnish citizenship and plays for Finland. Roman is the son of a football player Alexei Eremenko Sr.
At the age of 17 the player made his debut in the top division of Finnish Jaro. In 2005 he moved to Italian Udinese, which immediately loaned him to Siena.
In the summer of 2008 Eremenko joined Dynamo Kyiv on a 1-year loan spell. A year later the Ukrainian club acquired full rights for the player and signed him for 5 years. Roman became the first Dynamo player with Serie A and Veikkausliiga experience. In the 2009/10 season Eremenko played 35 official matches and scored 1 goal. In the following season Roman was named the best assistant of the Europa League. During his stay at Dynamo Eremenko made 120 appearances and scored 7 goals, became the champion of the Ukrainian Premier League and twofold champion of the Ukrainian Super Cup.
In August 2011 Russian Rubin Kazan bought the midfielder for €13 million. In the finals of the Russian Cup 2012 Eremenko scored a decisive goal against Dynamo Moscow and helped his club to win the trophy.
Roman plays for Finland national team since 2007. One year later he became a team regular.
