Ron Vlaar is a back of Aston Villa. He was born on 16 February 1985 in Hensbroek, Netherlands.
Ron’s youth career took off in local Apollo ‘68 in 1991, where he performed during four years. In 1995 Vlaar continued his career in the youth system of SVW ‘27 and spent only a year in the club.
In 1996 AZ scouts noticed the promising back and offered him to train in their academy. Ron accepted the offer and stayed in the youth system of the new club during eight years, playing for different youth teams.

In the summer 2012, the back sealed a three-year deal with English side Aston Villa.
From 2006 till 2007, Vlaar was called up eight times to the Netherlands national U-21 team. From 2005, the footballer was capped eleven times and contributed one goal for the full national squad.
