Rong Hao was born on 7 April 1987 in Wuhan, Hubei, China. Rong began playing football with his hometown club Wuhan Guanggu. He featured for different youth squads of the club for several years. The player’s professional career started in 2005, when he penned a contract with Wuhan Guanggu.
At first Hao was used only as a reserve player. Rong made his league debut in May 2006. At the same time the footballer scored his first goal which appeared to be the winning goal in that match. After that game the player secured a place in the first team. The next season was a success for the footballer, and he continued to gain prestige among his club-mates. Rong featured in 33 games for Wuhan Guanggu overall. However the club failed to win the 2008 Chinese Super League title.
In 2009 Rong Hao was on loan to Jiangsu Sainty until the end of the season. Hao immediately got into the first team of the club where he made 27 appearances. In 2010 Rong Hao signed a contract with Hangzhou Greentown. The player delivered solid performance and helped his team get an opportunity to play in the AFC Champions League. The footballer took part in 50 games for Hangzhou Greentown.
In December 2011 Rong Hao sealed a deal with Guangzhou Evergrande. Since 2009 the footballer has been playing for the China national football team. Rong made his international debut against Iran in June 2009. He has gained 35 caps for the senior side.
