Ronnie Stam is a back of Standard Liège. He was born on 18 June 1984 in Breda, Netherlands.
In 1992 Ronnie got on a trial to the academy of local NAC Breda and was admitted after successfully passed tests. The young talent showed wonderful pace and skill, which was very useful at the position of a right defender. The footballer trained to become a back, thus fulfilling his intention to make as many assists as possible.
In 1997 Stam moved to the youth system of Rotterdam side Feyenoord, where he spent another five years of his junior career before starting his professional performance. However, in 2002 the back transferred to his native NAC Breda, where his senior career took off. After penning a contract, Ronnie officially became a player of the club. From 2002 till 2008, the footballer made 122 appearances and netted four goals for the team.
In 2008 Stam drew the attention of other Dutch side club Twente, which made the capture of the back one of its main priorities. Ronnie spent the 2008/2009 season coming on the field in the starting line-up and retained his place for the following season. The footballer featured in 57 games and fired two goals for Twente during two years. In 2010 Stam moved to English side Wigan Athletic and played in 64 fixtures till the summer 2013 when he joined a Belgian side Standard.
