Rory Donnelly was born on 18 February 1992 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Rory’s career took off in Cliftonville after he penned his first senior contract in 2010 and made his first appearance in September. He took part in 33 games and chipped in seven goals for the club during his first season.
The 2011/2012 season was even better for the player as he netted 13 goals (and some of them were real screamers) in 18 matches, which clearly demonstrated his imperious form and workmanship. That drew the attention of several top English teams, including Everton, Liverpool and Arsenal, which made the capture of the striker one of their main priorities. However, the manager of Cliftonville announced the choice was Rory’s.
Welsh side Swansea City lodged a bid for the footballer and Donnelly agreed with all terms of the contract. In January 2012, the 19-year-old talent completed a three-year deal with Swansea. In January 2014 Donnelly went on loan to Coventry City.
In November 2011, Rory was called up to the Northern Ireland national U-21 team.
