Rubén Rochina is a midfielder of Blackburn Rovers. He was born on 23 March 1991 in Sagunto, Spain.
Rubén’s youth career took off in the academy of Valencia in 2003. The footballer joined a junior squad and performed for it till 2004, when Barcelona scouts won him over to their youth system. Rochina spent six fruitful years with one of the best clubs in the world and managed to clinch a place in the reserve squad in 2008. He netted four goals in 26 fixtures for Barcelona B from 2008 till 2011 and became a transfer target for a number of teams.
In 2011, Blackburn Rovers scouts reported the Spanish midfielder was very promising and talented, which induced the management to negotiate. The both parties agreed all terms of Rubén’s transfer, and he sealed a deal with ‘The Riversiders’ in the summer the same year. The footballer featured in 36 matches and found the net five times for the club as of December 2012. In 2013 he was loaned to Zaragoza.
From 2008 till 2010, Rochina was capped 17 times and contributed eight goals for the Spain national U-17, U-18 and U-19 squads.
