Rubén Suárez Estrada is a Spanish midfielder. Rubén was born on 19 February 1979 in Gijón.
In 1997, Suárez graduated from the academy of Sporting Gijón and signed for Sporting B. He spent the first five years of his professional career performing for the club. In 1998, he started to make rare appearances for the main squad. In 2002, the midfielder left the squad. During that period of time he made 47 appearances and netted 16 goals. In 2002, Rubén was finally promoted to the main squad of Sporting Gijón. In 2004, after netting 11 goals in 104 matches for Sporting Gijón, Suárez moved to Elche. His debut season at the club was lined with rare appearances. Nevertheless, this time was very important, as the midfielder started to fit in the first team, got some tactical training and got to know his teammates. From the 2005/2006 season, Estrada started to get more playing time. Altogether, he appeared 93 times and amassed 13 goals for Elche.
In 2008, Rubén joined Levante, where he managed to reveal his potential despite being viewed on as on a quite old footballer. From 2008 to 2012, the midfielder played an essential role for the squad. He missed only few clubs fixtures, because the head coach wanted Suárez to have some rest. In total, the player displayed a solid performance by appearing 127 times and amassing 37 goals during the spell. In 2012, Rubén Suárez moved to Guizhou Renhe, where he stayed until 2013 making 13 appearances and racking up one goal. In 2013, the midfielder was scouted by Almeria and helped the team to get promotion to the top division. However, after that he signed a deal with a Greek side Skoda Xanthi.
From 1997 to 1999, Rubén Suárez used to play for the Spain national youth squad at U-18, U-20 and U-21 levels. Altogether, he appeared 18 times and was once lucky to find the net.
