Rubén González Rocha is a Spanish footballer playing as a defender for CA Osasuna.
Rubén began playing professionally at a club named Conxo subsequently moving to Compostela and finally emerging in the youth system of Real Madrid. He made his way to the bench of the main squad in the season 2000/01already. Nevertheless his debut came on May 10, 2002 facing Deportivo.
Having been replaced on the 25th minute after he hit his own net in a lost 1-4 match against Sevilla FC Rubén lost the manager’s trust and didn’t make a single appearance until he was loaned by a German side Borussia Mönchengladbach. Then he was sent on a season-long loan to Albacete Balompié. After that he was relegated to Real Madrid B squad and only then he moved to Racing Santander. There he became a mature professional footballer and even started to score occasionally (two La Liga goals against Mallorca and Villarreal).
Regardless of his position as a top-flight performer Rubén signed for a Segunda side Celta Vigo where he spent 2 seasons with 70 appearances. In the summer of 2009 the defender signed for Mallorca where he also played 2 seasons, first as a backup to the starting duo of defenders but later becoming a firm starter.
In 2011 Rubén signed for Osasuna where he failed to win a solid starting eleven position with only 11 appearances through the season.
Rocha was capped to all the youth national team ranks appropriate to his age starting with the U-16 squad with which the defender managed to win the U-16 European Championship of 1999.
