Rui Rêgo is a goalkeeper of Beira-Mar. He was born on 5 July 1980 in Mujães, Portugal.
In the middle of the 1990th the young footballer succeeded at the try-out to the academy of Braga and joined one of its youth teams. Quick and flexible like a cat Rui showed excellent results during all the course of development at the academy despite his relatively low stature for a goalkeeper. He is a product of Braga’s academy where he finished his football formation. In spite of his commitment to this club Rui signed for Braga only to be loaned to its reserve team for two years because there was no place for him in the main team. From 1998 to 2003 he played as a first-choice goalkeeper with Braga B where he showed his best qualities.
In the summer 2003 the footballer joined Marco, where he got an opportunity to play in the first team of the professional club as a first-choice goalkeeper for the first time. In the next season Rêgo moved to Valenciano where he spent one season. During the 2005/06 season he changed three clubs namely Felgueiras, Torre Moncorvo, Valdevez.
In the summer 2006 Rêgo signed a contract with the Portuguese side Lixa where he spent one season. From 2007 to 2010 the footballer played as a first-choice goalkeeper of Chaves where he delivered impressive performances. In the summer 2010 Rêgo sealed a deal with Beira-Mar where plays until now as a substitute goalkeeper.
