Ruslan Rotan is a Ukrainian footballer played at the berth of a midfielder for Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk FC and the Ukrainie National Football Team. He was born on October 29, 1981 in Poltava, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union.
Ruslan Rotan started training at the youth school of Vorskla Poltava FC. Having followed the advice of his coach, the young footballer took a series of exams at Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk FC and managed to join the club. Ruslan Rotan played his first Ukrainian Premier League match on November 7, 1999. However, the midfielder became the first-choice player on in the 2002/2003 season. In total, Ruslan Rotan spent 7 seasons at the club and stabbed 11 goals in 150 matches.
In the summer of 2005 Ruslan Rotan signed up with Dynamo Kyiv FC and broke into the first team at once. But in the season of 2006/2007 he failed to maintain his position because of a number of injuries the footballer suffered from and lack of practice. So in the end Ruslan Rotan left Dynamo Kyiv FC and returned to Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk FC in the winter of the 2007/2008 season.
Ruslan Rotan is the holder of the Order of Valour of the third degree.
