Ruud Swinkels is a goalkeeper, born on 23 February 1987 in Moergestel, Netherlands.
Ruud’s career took off in local amateur Audacia, where he drew the attention of Willem II scouts. The footballer joined the new club, trained in the academy and performed for the youth team for several years, but soon decided to leave the country and move to Germany, where he played for various junior squads. However, Ruud did not stay there for long and soon returned to his native country so that to join Tilburg side Zand. After spending some time with the club, the goalkeeper completed a move to Triborg.
In 2009 Swinkels joined FC Eindhoven and made his début for the team on 11 September 2009 in the home 8-0 loss to Dordrecht, when he came on as a substitute for Jurgen Hendriks. After his first appearance, Ruud was offered to pen a contract till 30 June 2012. The footballer featured in 86 games for the club during his spell.
At the beginning of 2012, the keeper penned a one-and-a-half-year contract with PSV, where he was given number 41 shirt and became a third-choice goalkeeper. After a brief spell with Cambuur, Swinkels moved to Willem II in the summer 2013.
