Ryan Babel is a Dutch football player who was born on 19 December 1986 in Amsterdam. The first team in his football career was S.V Diemen. Later the player also stayed in Fortius, but it was the year 1998 when he got a chance to participate in Ajax Academy trials and consequently received invitation to join one of the most prominent football schools in Europe. Babel played in different youth sides in the club until finally the team offered him to sign a professional contract in 2004.
The debut in the first team happened on 1 February 2004 in the match against ADO Den Haag. During a three-year stint in the Dutch team Babel made 73 appearances and scored 14 goals.
On 13 July 2007 Babel penned a deal with Liverpool, as the English club paid £11.5 million for a forward. Babel was introduced to the public in a friendly against Werder Bremen on 17 July 2007. Despite playing only in 91 matches and scoring just 12 goals during his four-year spell, he had always been warmly supported by Liverpool fans that nicknamed him Babelcopter.
On 25 January 2011 Babel signed a deal with the German club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, where he played for a season, making 46 appearances. At the end of the season the player bought off the remaining three years of his contract with Hoffenheim and returned to his old club Ajax signing a one-year deal.
At the end of the spell Ryan joined a Turkish club Kasimpasa.
