Ryan Bennett is a defender of Norwich City. He was born on 6 March 1990 in Orsett, England.
In 1996 Ryan joined the academy of Ipswich Town and spent most time of his youth career there. It took Bennett ten years to develop into a secure, workmanlike and skillful defender, who could successfully operate under the guidance of the head coach. In 2006 Ryan drew the attention of Grimsby Town scouts who wanted to win the young footballer over to their academy. The same year Bennett officially became a trainee of the new club’s youth system and spent a year there before joining the main team.
In 2007 Ryan penned a contract and became a professional player of Grimsby Town. He was let on the pitch in the starting XI from the very first season and netted six goals in 103 matches. In 2009 English side Peterborough United wished to sign the young footballer on loan so that to see him in action. The attempt was successful and the club decided to secure the services of the defender on permanent basis. In the summer 2010, Bennett penned a professional contract with Peterborough United and performed for the new team during one season and a half.
In January 2012, Norwich City bought the young talent, but asked him to stay in his previous club for half a year and play on loan.
Ryan Bennett was capped one time for the England national U-18 team (in 2008) and one time for England C (in 2011).
