Ryan Bertrand is an English footballer under contract with Chelsea.
Bertrand is the only player in history to make a Champions League debut right in the final on 19 May 2012. Ryan was in the line-up and played till 73th minute, being substituted at 0-0 score. That match ended in a 1-1 draw with Chelsea edging out Bayern on penalties. Bertrand made his debut and became the Champions League Cup winner on the same day.
In July 2005 the footballer signed the contract with Chelsea still being the player of Gillingham.
In 2006/07 Bertrand was twice sent on loan to A.F.C. Bournemouth. In 2007 he joined Oldham Athletic A.F.C. on loan, where he played till January 2008. He also played for Norwich City, Reading and Nottingham Forest before returning to the parent club.
In 2011 Ryan became a regular in Chelsea lineup and made the first team in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich.
However, with Jose Mourinho’s return he was reduced to few opportunities and was finally loaned out to Aston Villa in 2013/2014 season. A loan spell with Southampton followed.
Bertrand has played for England at U17, U18, U19, U20 and U21 levels.
