Ryan Anthony Taylor is a player of Newcastle United, who can act both as a midfielder and a back. He was born on 19 August 1984 in Liverpool, England.
In 2002 Ryan began his professional career in Tranmere Rovers. He became one of the anchor players of the team due to his versatility and ability to perform at different positions. The head coach of Tranmere Rovers could send Ryan both to right flank, left flank or to midfield. During three seasons in the club, Taylor made 100 appearances and scored 15 goals in the matches with various English squads.
In 2005 the footballer drew the attention of different Championship and Premier League clubs. English side Wigan Athletic made a tempting offer to Tranmere Rovers and to Ryan himself, when they received positive answer from the management. All parties came to an agreement concerning the transfer in the summer 2005 and a contract between Wigan and Taylor was signed a bit later. During four seasons from 2005 till 2009 the footballer played for Wigan, being an important part of the team, but he failed to become a solid regular and a pivot. The head coach tried to bring him to play in different tactical schemes as often as he could and let Ryan on the pitch 56 times. Taylor managed to go on to nets of English squads six times during his entire footballer’s career in ‘Latics’.
In 2009 Ryan was in perfect shape and his professionalism inspired respect for him. Newcastle United took an interest in the player and wished to see him in its ranks. In the summer 2009 the parties reached an agreement and ‘The Magpies’ bought a wonderful footballer, who can perform at various positions.
