Rydell Poepon is a striker of ADO Den Haag. He was born on 28 August 1987 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Rydell’s career took off in 1994, when he joined AFC. The footballer performed for his first club during two years and made a move to the academy of Fortius, where he played till 2001. From 2001, Poepon was a trainee of Zeeburgia and managed to draw the attention of Ajax scouts, who invited him to their youth system in 2004. The young player accepted the invitation and spent two years in the academy of the club.
In 2006 Rydell penned his first contract with the Amsterdam side club and spent another two years either at the training ground or at the substitutes’ bench. The same year, the management of the club gave the footballer an opportunity to develop his skills by sending him on a two-year loan to Willem II, where Poepon managed to make 41 appearances and find the net ten times.
After the end of his temporary spell, Rotterdam side Sparta secured the striker’s services on a two-year deal. Two seasons in the new club were very fruitful for the player, as he managed to amass 19 goals in 64 matches.
The scouts of De Graafschap liked Rydell’s performance, and they decided to win him over to their club. In the summer 2010, Poepon sealed a deal with the new team and fired 19 goals in 65 games during two seasons.
In June 2012, the striker completed a move to ADO Den Haag.
From 2007 till 2008, Rydell was capped two times for the Netherlands national U-21 squad.
