Samed Yesil was born on 25 May 1994 in Düsseldorf. He began his career by joining CFR Links, after which moved to BV 04 Düsseldorf. In 2005 the young talent was linked with Bayer and played in the youth team till 2012. In 2010 he and his club made their way through to the Under 19 Fußball-Bundesliga championship final, but lost to Eintracht. The following season Samed showed a stellar performance by scoring 22 goals in 24 matches. He got to the U-23 squad due to that achievement and continued to play for the U-19 team at the same time.
However, on 14 April 2012, Yesil made his senior début by coming on as a substitute in the 81st minute of a 3-3 draw.
The young striker’s talent attracted Brendan Rogers and the German joined Liverpool later on in 2012.
In 2010 Samed was capped for the German U-16 team for the first time, and took part in two matches and netted three goals. In September the footballer was asked to join the U-17 squad, which strolled to the bronze medals of the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Serbia. Yesil was awarded the Silver Shoe according to the imperious form he showed during the tournament. Samed also participated in the World Youth Cup qualification. The footballer made 21 appearances for the U-17 squad and contributed 19 goals. On 29 February 2012, he was called up to the U-18 team for the match against the Netherlands. Yesil has already taken part in three games at U-18 level.
The impressing speed of a shot bound Samed with a ‘Gerd’ nickname among his national team peers. That nickname honours legendary ‘DFB-Eleven’ player Gerd Müller.
