Samir Handanovic is a Slovenian goalkeeper who was born on 14 July 1984 in Ljubljana. Handanovic started his career in professional football in Slovan. In 2002 he signed a deal with Domžale, spending there two seasons. In 2004 the goalkeeper was offered a lucrative deal with Udinese and a 20 year-old player moved to Italy.
In Udinese the Slovenian did not manage to become a first-choice keeper. Handanovic played on loan in such clubs as Treviso, Lazio and Rimini, but returned to Udinese in 2007, quickly progressing to the first goalkeeper in the squad.
On 4 July 2012 Handanovic was transferred to Internazionale for €11.
